Jeff Clarkson wins in Quebec

Jeff Clarkson starts the season out strong for Aviawest-RMB (now Team Aviawest) with a win at the first Canada Cup race in Quebec. The course was described as fast and rolling, requiring a lot of power and skill.

Victoria's Jeff Clarkson took a huge step last weekend towards earning a trip to the mountain bike world championships.
Clarkson, a member of Team Aviawest-Rocky Mountain Bikes, won the opening round of the Canada Cup MTB cross-country series in Baie St. Paul, Que. Competing in the junior expert class, Clarkson, a Grade 12 student is aiming to peak at the national championships at Mt. Washington in July. It's there where he will have a chance to qualify for the national team which will represent Canada at the world championships in Fort William, Scotland, Sept. 4-10. |
