Aviawest-Rocky Mountain riders win National MTB Titles
July 21, 2007
Team Aviawest-Rocky Mountain junior MTB rider Jeff Clarkson won the biggest race of his career on Saturday winning the Junior Men's XC National Championship race at Mt. Washington. Jeff rode brilliantly through the rain and relentless mud slowly pulling away from a pair of Quebec Team riders who managed to keep pace with him in the first half of the race. Jeff finished 2 minutes up on second place to win the race and guarantee himself a spot on the Canadian Team for the 2007 MTB World Championships to be help in Fort William, Scotland, on September 3-9.
In the Women's U-17 Category Kjersten Lone of Team Aviawest-Rocky Mountain pulled of an amazing set of rides; winning the National DH Championship then taking the Silver medal the next day in the XC race.
